They are usually driven by some of the well-known names in the network marketing industry. I am sure you know some of them. A quick read and you will find that the entrance of these weight loss products on the market are usually accompanied by the usual chorus of clinical studies, trial data, and other statistical data. The purpose of these of course, is to trumpet the effectiveness and safety of these products. There are hidden dangers though, and you deserve to know about them. Some medical experts believe that some of these studies are not so convincing after all, with results skewed towards the manufacturer of the product. There are product trials that are either not scientific enough, or not prove over a long time. How wide spread is this problem? It is difficult to say. On one hand many doctors seem skeptical about endorsing natural weight loss pills, while jumping head over heals to endorse those put out by the big drug companies. On the other hand, marketers of natural weight loss pills make exorbitant claims that are hard to prove. If you are looking to lose some body fat, and are tempted to simply purchase what is on the market right now, you may want to wait a bit longer just to examine some other options you may not have thought about. Proper research is only as good as the source of information you are getting. You know that. Who are the experts validating the research you depend on? Are they paid by the same company who made the products, or are they fiercely loyal to you the consumer? The New York Times of January 5, 2009 carried a story about the US Government’s efforts to draw a line of demarcation between large drug companies and the doctors who so quickly endorse their products to patients. There is a disconnect between some doctors’ willingness to promote their favorite fat loss diet pills, or other drugs, and what is really in the best interest of their patients. Money seems to talk a lot louder when large drug companies peddle their influence among medical doctors. Money also seems to make the biggest difference in whom or what gets a passing grade from a prescribing physician in some of these instances. I will restate my conviction though, that your health should not be put at risk just because some medical person endorsed a new diet pill based on incentives, rather than on independent clinical studies. My research so far, points to some distinct advantages to be gained by taking a multi-pronged approach to your weight reduction, or fat loss challenge. Consider the merits of the following statement. “No single person or company has the answer to every weight-related problem, and those who stand to gain the most will always be biased”. It therefore stands to reason that you should not knowingly put your life in the hands of a single person or entity that may be in it just for the money. A community approach to weight loss or fat loss would serve you better. Here is why. If you join a community of people who have the same goals, concerns and frustrations, you are more likely to find great results in the midst of many counselors. Discover a place where people who need to lose some weight get together to share their results, without trying to push a product on you. In other words, by taking away the incentive for monetary gain from this group, you can focus on unbiased solutions and get better, more long lasting weight loss results. In a community of like-minded people who are searching for very similar results, and which has the tools you need to make good decisions, you are going to find real help.
